Cancer – A random tumour that just appeared in my body *************************************

_{There you have it – not a happy blog about swimming adventures but a journey through the handbrake turn and skid off a cliff whilst bursting into flames that my life has just taken.
It’s not a blog for sympathy or empathy or attention or anything like that – but writing about it is cathartic and helps me to understand myself what is going on.}

<sub>So – no sympathy or ‘poor you’ or ‘how are you’ or ‘shocked to hear your news’ – none of that !!
It’s also not a ‘fight’ or a ‘battle’ – I’m not going to ‘kick it’s ass’ or ‘beat it’ – I don’t need to be told ‘stay strong’ or any of the other little soundbites that you may think of.

It’s not anything that can remotely be described as tied up with a pink ribbon – it’s going to be a journey through a treatment pathway and surgery so that they can cut it out and zap me with chemo and stuff so that it doesn’t come back in a few years time – I just need to stay positive and get through it.!!
